Mosaic Tesserae draws on the tradition of the solo concerto, reimagined through the lens of mixed music. Set against electronics conceived as an imaginary orchestra, where each sonic element is treated as a musician in its own right, the marimbist unfolds a virtuosic writing, by turns vivid, dynamic and richly timbred, in constant dialogue with an electronic partner that remains identical yet never quite the same.

The electronics, fixed on a support medium, ensure the longevity of the work while leaving the performer a freedom of listening and sonic engagement renewed with each performance. It is in this space, between the rigidity of the fixed and the vitality of the moment, that the piece finds its breath.

The title says it all: the tesserae, those fragments of stone or glass that make up a mosaic, speak to the plurality of musical influences brought together here, contemporary music, jazz, electronica, pop, traditional music, fused into a singular, coherent, and resolutely personal language.

Mosaic Tesserae is the first stone of a sound world still under construction.
